About the Meditation: Meditation on Twin Hearts is a service-based guided group meditation for planetary peace. The meditation activates the twin hearts, the physical heart in the chest, and the spiritual heart on the crown. We then collectively bless the planet and in turn, receive those blessings since we're living here! Most people leave the meditation feeling calm, aligned, centered, inspired, and at peace. Meditating in a group makes the experience even more powerful as the more people do it together, the more the energy exponentiates. Starting this event with meditation helps create a beautiful container for healing, connection, and self-exploration + expression 

After the meditation, there will be a short tea time & social hour to connect. If we can involve vendors this is a great opportunity for them to show their stuff and have some uninterrupted attention. Then the show begins!! Get ready to dance your heart out and/or lose yourself in the sights and sounds of the music and laser art show. The experience will wrap up with some gentle guided mindful movements to help you slow down and integrate the experience.

All are welcome and encouraged. No experience is necessary, just an open heart and mind.

About the Artists:
SurprisinglySimple is a sacred bass music duo comprised of singer/songwriter Rachel Blum and Musician/Producer/Lighting Designer Anthony Blum. With the mix of live vocals, electronic production, and integrated stage lighting design, SurprisinglySimple provides an inspired container for personal internal growth and global external evolution. Join Ru on a breathwork journey to deepening self-love, accessing inner peace and wisdom, and embodying our true nature. Through deep, rhythmic breathing, we will calm the physical and emotional body. This is a potent healing modality that allows us to center, ground, and release stuck energies.

Ru will be guiding us with the beautiful rhythmic playing of her tongue drum and shamanic singing along with guided, intuited cues.

Basking in Gravity is an exploration of our relationship with one of the fundamental forces of the universe. This experience combines elements of audiovisual installation and participatory performance with yin yoga and sitting meditation. It’s a practice of finding equanimity in discomfort as gravity pulls our bodies
home to the dirt.

Daniel “Cosmic Chambo” Chamberlin uses his experience as an artist, Zen student, and former emergency medical responder to lead practitioners in 90 minutes of non-self improvement meditation and slow-and-low yin yoga.

Basking in Gravity takes place in an immersive audiovisual environment that includes organic video projections and a soundtrack of contemplative drone, heavyweight dub, and ambient music that builds to a crescendo of cosmic metal.

Basking in Gravity is intended to be accessible to all bodies and experience levels.

West African Dance Workshop

West African Dance encompasses many different dance styles from many different ethnic groups out of Western Africa. This workshop will consist of a warm-up utilizing West African dance techniques, then move into exploring a specific dance style, all accompanied by live drumming. All levels are welcome!

Fred’s bio: Drummer, teacher, and drum maker Fred Simpson was drumming his mother’s pots and pans at one-and-a-half years of age. He started drumming professionally at UC-Santa Cruz and in the decades since then has performed, taught, and lectured in New York City, at the Kennedy Center, San Francisco Ethnic Dance, and many more venues.

Deollo’s bio: Dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer Deollo Johnson has been dancing most of his life. He’s done West African dance for decades, performing professionally in many venues and teaching internationally, including at Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) and the Creative Dance Institute in Thailand.
