A Yoga/Thai Chi Fusion Demo Class
Come join Mike Graney and friends in this fluid and dynamic practice that fuses movement, postures and philosophies of tai chi, qi gong and yoga.
Tai chi and yoga asana have much in common and much to benefit one another through their distinct differences. Where yoga often emphasises static holding and specific engagements and alignments tai chi offers a looser and more fluid approach that allows energy to flow through the body with less resistance. This class will introduce you to qi gong and tai chi in a way that integrates naturally with familiar yoga asana.
Mike lived in the area from 1986-1998 and has been in and out of the region ever since. He began studying yoga and martial arts at the same time in 1981 and has pursued the practices in different schools ever since. The best teacher is of course Nature and the lessons learned from River and Earth figured prominently in all his practices. He has lived in New Zealand for most of the last 15 years.
